Psalm 86:15 (ESV)
Have you ever looked at people who are not so good in their ways with a bad attitude and always mistreat others and you wonder, “How in the world can God love you?” After all, they representing the total opposite of what God is and does. Are you willing to be honest in your opinions of others? I am. I have found myself saying those exact words in my mind and forgetting that I need the same grace to make it each day.
In today’s verse, God’s love is described as being steadfast. Do you really know what that means? The definition of steadfast means to be firmly fixed in place or not subject to change. Meditate on that for a moment. God’s love for us firmly fixed! God’s love for us is not subject to change. God’s love for us is loyal, faithful, committed, devoted, dedicated, dependable, reliable, true, constant, staunch, solid and so many more adjectives that we can name. God’s love is unchangeable even towards the worst of sinners. His love is unconditional to anyone who is willing to receive it.
Who are we to assign God’s love to certain people? Did we assist God in creating man in His likeness and image? Let us sin no more with those foolish thoughts and pray that people will accept the love of God into their hearts so that it can manifest in their lives.
Father, I ask that you forgive me for trying to assign your love to certain people while forgetting that I need that same grace to make it each day. I thank you for your devoted love towards me. Help me to have that same type of love for everyone. In Jesus name I pray, amen!
