For most things in life, we do with a purpose. We get up at scheduled times. We may watch the morning news or grab our favorite cup of coffee. We may have a time that we pray or pray with the kids before they go off for the day. Whatever you do, whatever your routine, it’s normally done on purpose. You had every intention of doing what you did the way you did. When we first come to the Lord, we have such a fervency and we have no problem being purposeful in showing God’s love. As times go by, our trials may get harder, God may take longer to answer, unlike when we first come to Him. We can at the point of growth and maturity allow our fire to not be so bright. We forget that this is the time He should show God’s love the most. We need to let others know that He is with us when its easy and he surely is there when its hard. Its simple, its His love. It’s what He does and it’s what we should do. We should love on purpose. We may say a quick “Thank you Jesus” in the morning but where is our true investment? God gave us His greatest investment when he gave us Jesus. We can show the world love by giving them what He gave us, Jesus!
Love is not what you feel. Love is what you do! I’m so grateful that God purposely loves us everyday. There should be an effort to purposely love Him and others everyday. We may fall short at the success of it at times but continue on with any efforts. Love is not selfish. Love gives. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son….. (John 3:16). I challenge you to take the time to love on purpose. Do more than verbalize it. Do something intentional such as a hug, a nice note, or a smile to brighten someone else’s day. The smallest gestures can sometimes seem the biggest. Let us not be weary in well-doing: For in due season we shall reap a harvest if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9). What do you do when you feel you’ve done everything? Its simple–don’t faint. Continue in love.
Father, we thank you for sharing the greatest of sacrifices, your son, Jesus. He is the greatest love of all. Help us to share your love by sharing with others the gift of the cross. Let our Christ care bank remain big yet empty because we are constantly pouring out You to others. In Jesus Name, Amen.
