Genesis 6:5-8 (NASB)

Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved [a]in His heart. The Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the [b]sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.”  But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

As the men begin to multiply, their wickedness increased. God knew that His Spirit will not live in man forever because of the flesh and God numbered the days of man to 120. He was on a mission to take man clean off the earth and then we get to Genesis 6:8…But Noah.  We are familiar with the saying “But God”, however, this time it’s Noah who is our lifeline. He finds favor with God and his family is spared from the destruction and judgment. God decides to start over with Noah’s family and allows them to replenish the earth. The ark was a refuge of safety that God provided because of His love for all of His creation.

Are you in a position to be the lifeline for your family? Will you find favor with God to save your family? We all have a role to play. It’s easy to sit and judge others have done wrong. You will find more peace when God uses you as His refuge and a motivator for others to good works.

Dear Father, I want to find favor in your eyes not for me but for my family. I want to be the lifeline you use so that we can start over again. Show me my role in my family and help me to live out for your glory. Lord, I want to be the one whose prayer life will shift the dynamics of our family back in line according to your word. Lord, I want to be the one whose worship will make you smile. Lord, I want to be the one whose life is a mirror of your true character. Help me to be the one that can save my family. In Jesus name I pray, amen!
